The De La Calle Quena Flute joins elements of four cultures to produce a uniquely beautiful intercultural sound. The headjoint is a fusion of Japanese, Chinese and Peruvian elements combined with the body of the European flute. This new flute was awarded with bachelor’s and master’s degrees by Lund University in Sweden.
The Venue is one of the largest rooms at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). The main feature of the room is a ceiling sculpture by the prominent contemporary Spanish artist Miquel Barceló. The work is groundbreaking both artistically and technically and represents the themes of multiculturalism, mutual tolerance and understanding between cultures.
